No. 7 Virginia 64, La Salle 56: Malcolm Brogdon recorded 20 points to carry the Cavaliers to the championship game of the Barclay's Center Classic in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Brogdon made 5-of-10 from the floor and 8-of-9 free throws for Virginia (6-0), which will meet Rutgers on Saturday. Anthony Gill notched 16 points and 10 rebounds and Darion Atkins had six points, six rebounds and three steals for the Cavaliers.

Jordan Price poured in 20 points on 5-of-11 shooting for the Explorers (4-1), who will play Vanderbilt in Saturday's consolation game. Price also made 8-of-11 foul shots and Steve Zack had eight points and seven rebounds for La Salle.

The Explorers found it difficult to get a shot off in the early going, misfiring on three attempts while Virginia built an 8-0 lead through the first five minutes. La Salle finally got it going but by that time the Cavaliers led by 15 points with 6:09 remaining en route to a 37-19 halftime advantage.

Virginia took its largest lead at 48-28 on a 3-pointer by Brogdon with 13:18 left and maintained a double-digit advantage deep into the second half before the Explorers made a run. Price scored eight straight points to draw La Salle to within 49-39 just past the midway point and the Explorers got as close as four points in the final two minutes, but the Cavaliers held on for the win.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Virginia shot 14-of-24 from the field and 7-of-8 from the foul line in the first half. ... Price has scored 50 points in his last two games and has reached double figures in four straight games for La Salle. ... The Cavaliers enjoyed a 35-23 edge in rebounding.
