East Carolina 71, UCF 66: Caleb White led a balanced offense with 14 points as the Pirates rallied to edge the Knights in American Athletic Conference play and notch their first true road victory of the season.

Antonio Robinson contributed 13 points and eight assists for East Carolina (13-16, 6-10 AAC), which was 0-10 overall in true road games coming in. B.J. Tyson also scored 13 off the bench and Terry Whisnant added 11 points and five assists for the Pirates, who were 6-of-10 from 3-point range in the second half.

Freshman Adonys Henriquez made four 3-pointers en route to a team-high 14 points for UCF (12-16, 5-12), which shot 52.3 percent from the field but turned the ball over 14 times. B.J. Taylor chipped in with 10 points and Brandon Goodwin added nine for the Knights.

Taylor scored four during a 7-2 spurt that gave the Knights a five-point bulge, but the Pirates battled back to take the lead 61-60 on Tyson’s 3-pointer with 3:21 to go. UCF went ahead by three before Robinson drove for two, Whisnant drained a 3-pointer with 1:04 left and East Carolina held on despite missing two front ends of one-and-ones.

Goodwin had two baskets as UCF ran off eight straight points for a 21-12 lead with a little more than six minutes left in the first half and settled for a 31-25 edge at intermission. Marshall Guilmette made two 3-pointers as East Carolina scored 11 of the first 15 in the second half to take a 36-35 lead.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Pirates shot 57.1 percent from the field overall and had 20 assists on 28 field goals. … Rarely-used UCF walk-on G Myles Davis got the start in his final career home game and was honored on Senior Day along with Kasey Wilson (seven points). … East Carolina won for only the third time in 10 trips to UCF and swept the season series.
