Richmond 64, No. 15 VCU 55: Kendall Anthony had 22 points and six assists and the visiting Spiders used the 3-point shot during a decisive run to stop the rival Rams.

Terry Allen added 15 points and seven rebounds for Richmond (12-9, 5-3 Atlantic 10), which beat a top-25 team on the road for the first time in 11 years. Anthony drained 9-of-11 free throws and Trey Davis added 10 rebounds as the Spiders snapped VCU's 16-game conference home winning streak and improved to 1-7 in true road games this season.

Treveon Graham had 18 points and seven rebounds for VCU (17-4, 7-1), which had its 12-game winning streak snapped. Briante Weber had 11 points and six steals as the Rams had their eight-game home winning streak in the series ended.

ShawnDre' Jones kicked off a 22-4 run with a 3-pointer late in the first half that turned an 11-point deficit into a 39-32 lead with 13:40 left in the game. T.J. Cline added two shots from the arc during the spurt and Allen hit another.

The Rams moved within 43-39 on a jumper by Weber, but Alonzo Nelson-Ododa drained two free throws, Anthony hit a 3-pointer and a drive to rebuild a 50-39 edge with just under five minutes left. Graham drained a jumper with 53 ticks left to pull VCU within four, but Allen and Anthony hit two free throws apiece to seal it.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Rams entered the game averaging 72.1 points in conference contests. … Weber, who left late in the second half with a right knee injury, had nine points and four steals in the first half, including seven points during a 17-6 run that provided VCU a 28-17 lead with 1:47 left in the half. … VCU was just 3-of-20 from the arc and forced only 12 turnovers.
