No. 11 Kansas 68, Kansas State 57: Perry Ellis registered 16 points and 12 rebounds as the Jayhawks defeated the visiting Wildcats to win for the ninth time in the last 10 games.

Ellis made 7-of-9 from the field and Wayne Selden, Jr. had 14 points and four blocks for Kansas (18-3, 7-1 Big 12). Brannen Greene provided 11 points and three 3-pointers off the bench and Kelly Oubre Jr. supplied eight points and nine rebounds for the Jayhawks.

Thomas Gipson and Marcus Foster had 19 points apiece and combined to go 14-of-31 from the floor for Kansas State (12-10, 5-4), which shot 33.3 percent. No other player scored more than six points for the Wildcats, who have lost three of their last four games.

Ellis and the Kansas defense were the difference in the first half, as the junior posted a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds and the Jayhawks limited the Wildcats to 17.1 percent shooting. Ellis' layup made it 20-5 eight minutes into the half and Kansas would go on to build a 33-17 advantage at intermission.

The Wildcats were much better in the second half, making nine of their first 14 shots, but they still trailed by 15 points with eight minutes remaining. A layup by Frank Mason III of the Jayhawks made it 62-46 with five minutes left and Kansas held on down the stretch.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Wildcats went 6-of-35, including 0-of-7 from beyond the arc, in the first half. ... Mason scored 10 points and made 4-of-4 from the line to push his streak to 20 consecutive free throws. ... Aside from Foster and Gipson, seven other players combined to shoot 6-of-29 for Kansas State.
