UCLA 69, No. 10 Utah 59: Norman Powell scored 23 points as the host Bruins beat their first ranked opponent of the season.

Bryce Alford added 14 points and seven assists for UCLA (12-9, 4-4 Pac-12), which committed six turnovers compared to 14 for the Utes. Isaac Hamilton bounced back from 2-for-24 shooting slump in the previous three games to finish with 11 points on 4-for-7 from the floor.

Delon Wright scored 11 of his 15 points in the second half and Brandon Taylor scored 14 points with help from 4-for-9 shooting from 3-point range for Utah. Jakob Poeltl scored all eight of his points in the first half and Dakarai Tucker also scored eight off the bench for the Utes (16-4, 6-2).

Utah shot 57.1 percent from the floor in the first half, compared to 48.4 for UCLA, but still trailed 33-30 at the break. The Utes took an early seven-point lead but it was all Bruins after that as a 14-4 run put them up by three, which they maintained at the half.

The game turned when Utah went scoreless the first 7:18 of second half as UCLA stretched its lead to 45-30 on a basket by Powell. The Utes clawed back within seven with 2:59 left but UCLA kept them at bay by shooting 11-for-14 from the free throw line in the last 4:27.

GAME NOTEBOOK: UCLA starting F Tony Parker returned after missing the last two games with back spasms and finished with four points and six rebounds. … The Bruins were playing just their third home game in the last 48 days. … The Utes are one of six teams in the nation heading into Thursday that had not allowed an opponent to score more than 72 points this season.
