Georgia Tech 70, No. 23 Miami (Fla.) 50: Marcus Georges-Hunt scored 24 points as the visiting Yellow Jackets shocked the Hurricanes for their first ACC victory.

Georges-Hunt shot 10-of-12 from the field and added six rebounds and three steals to pace Georgia Tech (10-10, 1-7). Chris Bolden added 13 points as the Yellow Jackets shot a season-best 56.8 percent from the field and 18-of-22 from the free-throw line, winning for the first time since Dec. 30.

Tonye Jekiri scored 13 points with nine rebounds to lead Miami (14-6, 4-3) but had little assistance offensively as the Hurricanes shot 34.5 percent from the field and 6-of-26 from 3-point range. Sheldon McClellan and Angel Rodriguez, Miami’s top two scorers, combined to finish with six points of 2-of-15 shooting.

Bolden scored five points and Georges-Hunt added four as the Yellow Jackets hit seven straight shots to build a 15-4 lead. Charles Mitchell’s jumper with 12:02 left pushed the lead to 20-6 and Georgia Tech led 30-17 on Georges-Hunt’s free throw with 3:25 to go before Davon Reed’s two 3-pointers keyed a half-closing 9-4 spurt as Miami drew within 34-26 at intermission.

Jekiri brought the Hurricanes within 35-28 early in the second half before Georges-Hunt scored 10 of Georgia Tech’s next 12 points to push the advantage back to 11 with just under 11 minutes to play. Manu Lecomte’s 3-pointer cut the Miami deficit to 51-43 with 8:02 left, but Demarco Cox scored on consecutive possessions and Georges-Hunt scored six straight Yellow Jackets' points as Georgia Tech pulled away to snap its seven-game losing streak.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
Georgia Tech beat the Hurricanes for only the fourth time in the past 14 matchups. … Rodriguez went scoreless on 0-of-8 shooting from the field and is 5-of-37 from the field in his past four contests. … Georgia Tech F Robert Sampson was helped off the court holding his right hip with 8:38 remaining.
