Ole Miss 79, Mississippi State 73: Jarvis Summers led the host Rebels, scoring 22 points and dishing out seven assists to ward off the Bulldogs in SEC play.

Stefan Moody added 14 points for Ole Miss (13-7, 4-3 SEC), which notched consecutive wins for the first time since before Christmas. LaDarius White registered 12 points and Sebastian Saiz contributed nine points, eight rebounds, two steals and two blocks for the Rebels, who recorded 12 assists while committing only six turnovers.

Craig Sword totaled a season-high 27 points, including 5-of-7 3-pointers to lead the offense for Mississippi State (9-11, 2-5), which has lost two straight following a two-game win streak. Gavin Ware had 12 points and I.J. Ready finished with 10 for the Bulldogs, who fell despite shooting 55.6 percent from the field.

Mississippi State stormed out to a 13-2 lead off the opening tip, connecting on six of its first eight field goal attempts. Ole Miss fought back, using a 17-2 spurt to take a 21-18 lead with just under eight minutes to go until halftime but after Sword's 3-pointer 36 seconds before the break, the Bulldogs hit the locker room with a 32-28 advantage.

A 13-4 run that was highlighted by five points from Sword extended Mississippi State's lead to 45-32 to start the second half but the Rebels showed plenty of fight, using an 11-4 surge - capped by a 3-pointer from Summers - to pull to within 49-43 with just over 14 minutes to go. Anthony Perez's 3-pointer evened the score at 60 with 6:16 remaining and after it was tied at 62, the Rebels ran off 10 of the next 13 points, including 3-pointers from Perez and Summers to put the game away.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Ole Miss defeated the Bulldogs for the third straight time - its longest winning streak in the series since a four-win stretch from 1997-99. ... Ready has scored 10 points or more in six straight games and is averaging 11.3 points in SEC play. ... Mississippi State G Fred Thomas, who had averaged 10.2 points in his last five games, went scoreless on 0-for-6 shooting.
