No. 7 Arizona 73, California 50: Stanley Johnson collected 18 points and nine rebounds while Dusan Ristic added 12 points off the bench as the visiting Wildcats handed the Golden Bears their sixth consecutive loss.

Kaleb Tarczewski chipped in 10 points for Arizona (18-2, 6-1 Pac-12), which shot 49 percent and won its fourth straight following a loss at Oregon State. Rondae Hollis-Jefferson had nine points and five rebounds while T.J. McConnell contributed six assists to help the Wildcats avenge last season’s 60-58 loss at Haas Pavilion.

David Kravish led Cal (11-9, 1-6) with 16 points and 11 rebounds while Jordan Mathews scored 12 of his 16 points in the second half. Tyrone Wallace added 13 points, four rebounds and four assists for the Golden Bears, who committed 19 turnovers and lost for the eighth time in their last nine games.

Johnson scored 11 points in the opening period and Arizona took a 29-19 lead into the break after closing on a 12-2 run. Kravish cut the deficit to eight points early in the second half but the Wildcats quickly took control and extended their lead to 48-29 on McConnell’s basket with just over 11 minutes left.

Cal, whose last five losses have all come by double digits, trailed 65-42 after Johnson converted two free throws with just under five minutes remaining. Johnson was 8-of-9 from the foul line for Arizona, which won the battle of the boards 31-25 and shot 23-of-26 from the foul line compared to 1-of-4 for the Golden Bears.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Cal F Dwight Tarwater was held scoreless before fouling out with 7:46 remaining. … Johnson is shooting 81.8 percent from the foul line in Pac-12 play for Arizona, which improved to 117-17 when leading at halftime under coach Sean Miller. … Kravish recorded one blocked shot and moved into a tie with Michael Stewart for the school’s all-time record at 207.
