Davidson 77, No. 22 Dayton 60: Peyton Aldridge scored 22 points to carry the Wildcats to an Atlantic 10 victory over the visiting Flyers.

The freshman, who came in averaging 10.1 points, hit 9-of-14 from the field, including four 3-pointers, for Davidson (13-4, 4-2), which hosted a nationally ranked conference opponent for the first time since 1953. Tyler Kalinoski contributed 21 points and six of the Wildcats' 22 assists.

Jordan Sibert put up 23 points and four assists and Kendall Pollard added 23 points and six rebounds for Dayton (15-3, 5-1), which had won eight straight to achieve its first national ranking since 2013. Dyshawn Pierre, who averages 12.6 points, had five points on 2-of-10 shooting and grabbed eight rebounds.

Davidson was about as good as can be on the offensive end in the first half, shooting 51.5 percent and nailing 8-of-13 from beyond the arc in building a 45-33 halftime advantage. The Flyers tried to rally in the second half, getting to within 10 points in the opening minutes before being done in by turnovers and a scoring drought of six-plus minutes.

Aldridge's layup made it 61-45 with less than 11 minutes remaining and his 3-pointer pushed the lead to 17 points with 8 1/2 minutes left. Oskar Michelsen notched 11 points and three 3-pointers and Brian Sullivan added eight points and seven assists for the Wildcats, who posted their first win over a ranked opponent since beating Kansas in 2011.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Davidson finished with 13 assists on 17 made field goals and committed only two turnovers in the first half. ... The 45 points by Davidson were the most Dayton has allowed in a first half this season. ... Jack Gibbs, who averages 15.8 points, 4.9 assists and 4.5 rebounds, did not play for Davidson due to a knee injury.
