Ole Miss 65, South Carolina 49: Jarvis Summers scored 20 points to lead the way as the host Rebels picked up their first SEC win.

Stefan Moody scored 16 points for Ole Miss (10-5, 1-1 SEC), which improved to 12-1 at home against South Carolina. Sebastian Saiz added 10 points and five rebounds for the Rebels.

Tyrone Johnson was the only player in double figures with 13 points for South Carolina (9-5, 0-2), which has lost two straight following a seven-game winning streak. Duane Notice and Sindarius Thornwell added nine points apiece for the Gamecocks, who were 4-of-20 from 3-point range and missed all 10 attempts from long range in the second half.

The Gamecocks started 6-for-18 from the field while Ole Miss build a 28-16 lead, but South Carolina erupted for 11 points in the final three minutes of the half and pulled within 33-27 when Notice hit a 3-pointer in the final seconds before intermission. South Carolina kept the surge going with the first six points of the second half, pulling even at 33 on Thornwell's bucket.

Moody broke the tie with a 3-pointer, starting an 8-1 run, and South Carolina didn't get closer than five points the rest of the way. Johnson scored to pull the Gamecocks within 52-44 with 10:20 left, but they managed only two more field goals as Ole Miss closed it out.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The game was delayed for 23 minutes in the first half because of a power outage. … South Carolina has lost at least its first two games in SEC play in each of the past four seasons. … Summers (1,435) passed Eric Laird and Ansu Sesay to move into 13th place on the Ole Miss career scoring list.
