Miami (Fla.) 60, Boston College 56: Angel Rodriguez scored 17 points as the host Hurricanes held on for their first ACC win.

Tonye Jekiri had 13 points, 15 rebounds and three blocks for Miami (11-4, 1-1), which has won nine straight in the series. Sheldon McClellan added 11 points and six boards for the Hurricanes.

Olivier Hanlan led the Eagles (7-7, 0-3) with 19 points but missed two shots and three free throws in the final three-plus minutes. Miami native Eddie Odio added a career-high 13 points and hauled in six rebounds as BC fell for the fourth time in five games.

The Hurricanes held the Eagles without a point for nearly seven minutes in the first half, putting together a 9-0 run and carrying a 29-21 lead into the locker room. Hanlan started the scoring in the second half with a 3-pointer before Rodriguez scored all of his team's points in a 10-2 burst that gave Miami a 39-26 advantage with less than 13 minutes left.

Hanlan, Aaron Brown and Odio hit 3-pointers to help BC rally and pull into a 50-50 tie with five minutes to go and Odio had another to get the Eagles within a point approaching the two-minute mark. McLellan scored moments later to give Miami a 59-56 advantage and the teams exchanged several misses - including Hanlan's 3-point try with five seconds to go - before Jekiri hit one at the line to seal it.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Jekiri's 15 rebounds were his high for a conference game and fell one shy of his career best established earlier this season against Akron. ... The Eagles were 9-of-22 from beyond the arc but just 5-of-10 at the foul line. ... The teams combined to have just 11 turnovers.
