No. 21 VCU 89, Saint Joseph's 74: Treveon Graham registered 19 points and seven rebounds as the Rams dismantled the visiting Hawks.

Graham drilled four 3-pointers and Melvin Johnson made 6-of-7 beyond the arc en route to 20 points for VCU (13-3, 3-0 Atlantic 10), which has won eight straight since a loss to undefeated Virginia. Briante Weber had 11 points, seven assists and boosted his Division I-best steal total with five for the Rams.

DeAndre’ Bembry posted 16 points and eight rebounds for Saint Joseph's (6-8, 0-3), which was a dismal 19-of-34 on free throws. Aaron Brown had 14 points and six rebounds while Isaiah Miles contributed 12 points for the Hawks.

The Rams started the game on fire from beyond the arc as Johnson and Graham each made a pair of triples to send VCU to a 20-10 lead just over nine minutes in. Each team made a run, first 11-2 by Saint Joseph's and then 18-4 by VCU, which led 46-30 at the break.

As the number of turnovers and missed shots increased for Saint Joseph's, so did the lead for VCU, which stood at 64-38 with 13 ½ minutes remaining. The Hawks managed to whittle the deficit down to 14 points in the final minutes, but that was as close as they would get.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Led by 3-of-4 shooting by both Johnson and Graham, the Rams finished 8-of-14 beyond the arc in the first half. ... Saint Joseph's made 12-of-24 from the field, but made just 4-of-12 from the line in the opening stanza. ... Weber is 27 steals shy from overtaking Providence's John Linehan (385; 1998-2002) as the NCAA's career leader.
