Indiana 69, No. 20 Ohio State 66: Freshman James Blackmon Jr. scored 16 of his 18 points in the second half as the host Hoosiers bounced back from a poor performance to hold off the Buckeyes.

Troy Williams posted his second double-double of the season with 15 points and 12 rebounds for Indiana (12-4, 2-1 Big Ten), which has won six straight and 14 of their last 16 at home against Top 25 opponents. Yogi Ferrell chipped in with 10 points for the Hoosiers, contributing four free throws in the final seconds to hold off an Ohio State rally and rebound from a 20-point loss at Michigan State.

Shannon Scott tallied 16 points to pace the Buckeyes (13-4, 2-2), who fell to 1-3 on the road despite committing a season-low five turnovers. Freshman D'Angelo Russell went 3-of-15 from the field and finished with 13 points and eight rebounds while Sam Thompson and Jae'Sean Tate each poured in 12 points.

The Buckeyes rallied within three points multiple times throughout the second half and closed within 53-51 with 5 ½ minutes remaining before Blackmon keyed an 8-0 spurt with five points and an assist that led to a reverse dunk from Williams. Ohio State turned to full-court pressure and got five straight points from Thompson to pull within three points twice in the final two minutes, including at 65-62 with 1:22 left on a jumper by Scott.

Following an Indiana turnover, Thompson collected an offensive rebound and had the Buckeyes on the verge of tying the game as he was fouled on the putback, but he failed to make the free throw to complete the three-point play. Ferrell sank all four of his foul shots over the final 21 seconds and the Hoosiers forced Russell to take a long 3-point attempt that bounced off the back iron as time expired.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
Blackmon finished 6-of-13 from the field, bouncing back from a combined 3-of-23 effort over his last two contests. … Since going 7-of-10 in the first half of Tuesday’s 74-72 overtime win at Minnesota, Russell is 3-of-21 from the floor. … Indiana won the battle of the boards 48-39 after getting outrebounded 50-28 by Michigan State on Monday.
