Kansas State 58, TCU 53: Marcus Foster came off the bench for a second straight game and scored 23 points to lift the Wildcats past the visiting Horned Frogs in a Big 12 contest.

Foster, the leading scorer for Kansas State last season and through the first two months of this season, had fallen out of favor with coach Bruce Weber while combining for two points in the previous two games, but the sophomore guard bounced back while shooting 3-for-6 from the 3-point arc and 10-for-12 from the free-throw line. Wesley Iwundu added nine points for the Wildcats (8-7, 1-1 Big 12), who ended a three-game losing streak.

Trey Zeigler scored 19 points but was the only player in double figures for TCU (13-2, 0-2), which has lost two straight after equaling its best start in school history at 13-0. Kyan Anderson contributed another eight points for the Horned Frogs.

TCU sank six of its first seven shots to start the second half and trimmed a 10-point deficit to three with 11:24 remaining. The Horned Frogs then missed five straight field goal attempts, however, and the Wildcats were able to keep them from pulling any closer by shooting 12-for-14 from the free-throw line in the final two minutes.

TCU went scoreless for nearly four minutes to start the game but quickly made up ground with an 8-0 run and the score remained close as Kansas State took a 22-19 lead into the break. Foster sank 3s on back-to-back possessions early in the second half to extend the advantage to eight points and the lead swelled to as many as 10 with 14:44 remaining.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Wildcats avoided their first three-game home losing streak since February 2005. …. Kansas State F Thomas Gipson, who combined for 33 points the last two games and came in shooting 64.9 percent on the season, went scoreless until making a free throw midway through second half and finished with seven points. …. Anderson made his 100th career start for TCU.
