Haralds Karlis' 3-pointer gave Seton Hall a 17-3 lead less than seven minutes into the game before Ochefu helped the Wildcats climbed back into the game with a pair of buckets during an 11-2 run. Hilliard had a four-point play and a 3-pointer in the first minute of the second half to quickly erase Seton Hall' 31-27 halftime lead.

Gibbs made back-to-back baskets to keep the Pirates close and later tied it at 52-52 with a 3-pointer with just over six minutes left. Carrington had a layup late in regulation for a two-point lead, finished a spinning drive for a 62-61 lead with 1 ½ minutes left in overtime and hit two free throws on the next possession.
