SMU 83, USF 49:
Ben Moore scored 15 points on 5-of-6 shooting to help the host Mustangs rout the Bulls in the American Athletic Conference opener for both teams.

Keith Frazier tallied 14 points for SMU (10-3, 1-0 AAC), which has won eight straight overall. Nic Moore added eight points and a season-high seven assists as the Mustangs used a dominant first half to make it an easy stretch run.

Chris Perry led the Bulls (6-8, 0-1) with 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting. His teammates were 14-for-44 from the floor as USF lost for the seventh time in its last eight games.

SMU scored the first seven points of the game and took a 22-7 lead on Frazier's 3-pointer midway through the first half. Frazier led all scorers with 10 points at the break and the Mustangs made as many 3-pointers (five) as the Bulls had field goals in a dominant opening stanza, lifting the hosts to a 49-15 lead at the break.

Perry and Nehemias Morillo hit back-to-back jumpers early in the second half for USF before Frazier scored and Ben Moore threw down a dunk to spark an 8-0 run that pushed the margin to 40 points for the first time. The lead topped out at 41 as SMU finished with its largest win since a season-opening rout of Lamar.
