Ryan Boatright notched 18 points, five assists and three steals to send the Huskies to a convincing victory over the Blue Devils at home.

Rodney Purvis contributed 14 points and Kentan Facey posted his first career double-double with 12 points and a career-high 12 rebounds for UConn (6-4). Amida Brimah finished with 12 points and two blocks for the Huskies, who shot 53.3 percent despite making just 5-of-19 from 3-point range.

Greg Andrade had 13 points and Matt Mobley recorded nine points on 2-of-10 shooting for Central Connecticut State (2-10). Brandon Peel supplied seven points and six rebounds in the loss.

Andrade and Peel provided an early spark, scoring seven points apiece as the Blue Devils led 16-15 less than eight minutes into the first half. The Huskies finally went up by double figures as the Blue Devils went more than eight minutes without scoring, resulting in a 35-23 halftime lead for UConn.

The 12-point margin quickly grew to 21 as Purvis scored seven points to cap an 11-2 run before Boatright's three-point play pushed the lead to 55-25 with 15:41 remaining. The Huskies, who open play in the American Athletic Conference Dec. 31 against Temple, improved to 13-0 against the Blue Devils.

GAME NOTEBOOK: After starting 9-of-18 from the field, the Blue Devils closed the first half by making just 1-of-11 to finish at 34.5 percent. ... Mobley came into the game averaging 18.9 points. ... UConn finished with a 42-28 edge on the glass and made 12-of-13 from the foul line compared to 11-of-17 for the Blue Devils.
