USF 78, Southeastern Louisiana 63: Corey Allen Jr. led the way with 19 points and handed out four assists as the Bulls defeated the visiting Lions to snap a five-game losing streak.

Anthony Collins contributed 12 points and five assists while Nehemias Morillo scored 12 as USF (6-6) shot a season-best 54.4 percent from the field. Chris Perry chipped in with 10 points and eight boards for the Bulls, who made a season-high seven 3-pointers on 13 attempts.

Onochie Ochie and Joshua Filmore each scored 16 points to lead Southeastern Louisiana (3-10), which lost at UCF 70-65 on Monday night. Cedric Jenkins added 15 points, matching Filmore with four 3-pointers, and DeVonte Upson grabbed nine rebounds for the Lions.

Collins drained a pair of 3-pointers as USF ran off 12 straight points for a 19-9 lead and led by as many as 13 late in the first half. Jenkins registered 13 points, making 4-of-6 from behind the arc, in the opening 20 minutes as Southeastern Louisiana fought back within 38-30 at intermission.

Allen scored five straight to increase the Bulls’ lead to 52-38 before the Lions responded with nine of the next 11 – six by Filmore – to cut their deficit to 54-47 with 10:22 to go. Allen had two baskets and Collins capped a decisive 8-0 burst with a runner in the lane as USF extended the lead to 15 with 7:03 left and cruised from there.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Bulls G Troy Holston Jr. scored eight points off the bench after totaling eight in his previous five outings. … Southeastern Louisiana was without leading scorer G Zay Jackson (15.7) for the second straight game due to injury. … USF controlled the boards 40-29 and blocked eight shots.
