UCF 70, Southeastern Louisiana 65: Freshman B.J. Taylor led four players in double figures with 15 points as the Knights held off the visiting Lions.

Brandon Goodwin contributed 13 points, five assists and four steals while Adonys Henriquez also scored 13 for UCF (7-4), which made 10-of-23 from 3-point range. Daiquan Walker chipped in with 11 points, seven assists and six rebounds for the Knights, who improved to 7-2 at home.

Cedric Jenkins led the way with a season-high 22 points to go along with eight rebounds while Joshua Filmore scored 17 for Southeastern Louisiana (3-9). Andrew Guillory had 10 rebounds for the Lions, who were without leading scorer Zay Jackson due to an injury.

UCF led by one before running off 18 of the next 24 points – five each from Henriquez and Taylor – for a 61-48 lead with 7:52 to go. Filmore responded with the next eight points and Southeastern Louisiana pulled within 63-60 before Henriquez nailed a 3-pointer and the Lions could not get closer than four the rest of the way.

Henriquez drained a 3-pointer to ignite a 13-0 burst for UCF before Jenkins scored six as Southeastern Louisiana responded with the next 10 to tie the game at 24. Taylor and Kasey Wilson followed with back-to-back 3-pointers to give the Knights the lead and they settled for a 33-29 advantage at intermission.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Knights finished with 10 steals and turned the ball over only nine times. … Henriquez was named American Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week on Monday. … UCF has won seven of 10 all-time meetings with the Lions, including the last four.
