East Carolina 75, Florida A&M 57: Caleb White scored scored 17 of his 19 points in the second half as the Pirates held off the visiting Rattlers.

After a 1-of-4 first half, White finished 7-of-15 from the field, including 4-of-9 from 3-point territory, for East Carolina (6-6). Michel-Ofik Nzege had 14 points and six rebounds and B.J. Tyson supplied 11 points for the Pirates.

Jermaine Ruttley posted 16 points, six rebounds and four assists for Florida A&M (0-11). Craig Bowman contributed 13 points and Johnathan Spicer and Jerran Foster combined for 14 points and nine rebounds for the Rattlers, who shot 42 percent from the field.

Despite a rough shooting first half, the Pirates still enjoyed a 10-point advantage with eight minutes remaining before the Rattlers closed the half with a 15-3 run. Mario Karailiev's layup capped a 12-0 spurt that gave Florida A&M a 26-24 lead and after a 3-pointer by the Pirates' Paris Roberts-Campbell, the Rattlers added three more points to go into the break with a 29-27 advantage.

The Pirates appeared ready to shake free from the Rattlers by going up 49-40 less than six minutes into the second half, but again the visitors made a run to cut the deficit to one point. A 9-0 run capped by a 3-pointer from White with seven minutes left helped East Carolina pull away.

GAME NOTEBOOK: East Carolina went 11-of-31 in the first half, including 3-of-12 on 3-point attempts. ... Terry Whisnant was held to five points on 1-of-6 shooting for the Pirates, who shot 43.8 percent, but made 12-of-16 free throws. ... East Carolina forced 18 turnovers and came up with 12 steals.
