Freshman Justin Gray scored a season-high 18 points to lead four players in double figures as the host Red Raiders breezed to their seventh consecutive victory.

Robert Turner hit four 3-pointers en route to 14 points and Devaugntah Williams added 13 points, seven assists and five steals in the opener of the Continental Tire Las Vegas Classic. Reserve Isaiah Manderson chipped in 11 points and six boards as Texas Tech (8-1) improved to 8-0 at home.

Tashombe Riley scored a team-high eight points for South Carolina State (3-8), which is averaging 43 points during a three-game losing streak. Edward Stephens, Darryl Palmer and Jalen White added seven points apiece as the Bulldogs allowed their highest point total of the season.

Turner knocked down three early 3-pointers and Gray scored seven points as the Red Raiders raced to a 21-6 lead. After South Carolina State closed within 10, Gray buried three straight jumpers in an 11-2 spurt to make it 37-18 with just over five minutes left in the half.

Texas Tech continued to pour it on, closing the half on a 16-3 run and holding the visitors without a field goal for the final 4 1/2 minutes to take a commanding 53-23 lead to the locker room. Williams and Turner opened the second half with 3-pointers to ignite a 12-0 burst to push the margin to 42 points with 15 1/2 minutes still to play.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Turner broke out of a slump by connecting on 4-of-5 from 3-point range after entering the game 3-of-22 from behind the arc. ... Texas Tech tied its season high in assists by halftime with 17 and finished with 28. ... Gray was 6-for-7 from floor in the first half - his only blemish coming on a layup - but he missed three free throws as the Red Raiders finished 5-of-12 from the line in the opening 20 minutes.
