Texas Tech 79, Prairie View A&M 51: Randy Onwuasor scored 14 points and grabbed six rebounds as the host Red Raiders pulled away in the second half for an easy win over the Panthers.

Isaiah Manderson added 12 points and six rebounds for Texas Tech (7-1), which shot 52.9 percent from the field. Norense Odiase added 11 points while Zach Smith added nine for the Raiders.

Montrael Scott had 25 points, including five 3-pointers, for Prairie View A&M (1-9), which was hurt by 17 turnovers. John Brisco added nine points for the Panthers, who had no other players finish with more than six.

The first half was tight throughout, with five ties and 10 lead changes, though Prairie View opened up a five-point advantage on Scott's 3-pointer with 9:53 to go. Texas Tech responded with an 8-2 run to take back the lead, and a closing 10-2 run put the Red Raiders up by six at halftime.

It was still close early in the second half, with Brisco's 3-pointer with 13:07 pulling the Panthers within three but Texas Tech then went on a 14-0 run over a 5:35 span to take control of the game. Another scoreless span of 2:49 helped the Red Raiders open up a 28-point advantage and the hosts cruised from there.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Texas Tech G Devaugntah Williams came in shooting 50 percent from the field and 63 percent from 3-point range but finished 1-of-7 from the field and 0-of-3 from 3-point range for two points. … The Red Raiders dominated the glass, 39-22. … Texas Tech was 22-of-36 from the free-throw line, compared to the Panthers' 8-of-9.
