Florida Atlantic 54, UCF 41: Jackson Trapp scored 15 points and the Owls took advantage of a horrendous second half by the Knights to record their first road win of the season.

Marquan Botley added nine points on 2-of-13 shooting and Kelvin Penn collected six points and six rebounds for the Owls.

B.J. Taylor put up 17 points and three steals for UCF (5-4), which went more than 16 minutes without a field goal, including more than 13 minutes to start the second half. Justin McBride managed six points and six rebounds for the Knights, who have dropped three straight games.

Despite shooting 32.3 percent in the first half, the Owls made two more field goals than the Knights and that helped them to stay in the game. Taylor scored eight straight points, including a pair of 3-pointers, for UCF, which led 22-16 with 6 1/2 minutes left en route to a 26-25 halftime lead.

An 0-of-18 start to the second half by UCF allowed the Owls to take the lead, which they pushed to 46-28 with less than seven minutes remaining. Shaheed Davis' tip-in ended the field goal drought for UCF, but by then FAU had the game in the hand.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Knights made 8-of-20 from the field and 8-of-12 from the foul line in the first half. ... UCF scored just two points on free throws over the opening 13:25 of the second half. .. The Owls made 17-of-24 at the foul line, including 4-of-6 for Botley.
