Arizona State 81, Pepperdine 74: Shaquielle McKissic recorded his second career double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds and Eric Jacobsen added a career-high 20 points to go with nine boards as the Sun Devils extended their home winning streak to 14 games.

Gerry Blakes scored 16 points for Arizona State (6-3). Tra Holder added 15 points off the bench for the Sun Devils, who were 34-of-48 from the foul line.

Stacy Davis poured in 26 points on 9-of-12 shooting and grabbed nine rebounds to lead Pepperdine (5-2), while Amadi Udenyi came off the bench to provide 10 points, eight assists and six rebounds. Atif Russell and Jeremy Major scored 11 points apiece and Jett Raines added 10 for the Waves.

Pepperdine led by as much as six points in the first half but settled for a 31-29 lead at the break. The Waves opened their biggest lead of the game at 38-31 after Russell's three-point play capped a 7-0 run and it was still a seven-point margin when McKissic's dunk set off a 15-0 spurt that gave the Sun Devils their first lead.

The Waves went almost seven minutes without a field goal but were able to tread water and pulled within 57-50 when a Raines layup ended the drought with 7:42 remaining. Pepperdine got within 58-53 on an Udenyi 3-pointer with 5:57 left, but McKissic answered with a 3-pointer and it was never that close again.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Pepperdine, which entered the game ranked first nationally in 3-point field-goal defense at 18.2 percent, held Arizona State to 3-for-13 from behind the arc while the Waves were 6-for-16. … The Sun Devils won the battle of the boards 40-25 and owned a 16-5 edge on the offensive glass. … Arizona State F Jonathan Gilling entered the game averaging 11.1 points but was held scoreless on 0-for-4 shooting.
