Jalen Jones scored a career-high 27 points and collected eight rebounds as the Aggies beat the visiting Penguins.

Jones went 11-of-13 from the field, making all four 3-point attempts, and Danuel House posted 21 points, six assists and five rebounds for Texas A&M (7-2). Freshman Alex Robinson supplied a career-high 10 assists to go with seven points and six rebounds for the Aggies.

Shawn Amiker contributed 16 points and seven rebounds for Youngstown State (7-5). DJ Cole finished with 15 points and six assists and Shaun Stewart scored 11 points and made three 3-pointers for the Penguins, who were 8-of-22 from beyond the arc.

Amiker scored the first six points and Marcus Keene and Cole had back-to-back 3-pointers as the Penguins claimed a 12-9 lead with eight minutes gone by in the first half, but soon after the Aggies assumed control. A 3-pointer by Jones made it 32-20 with 3:18 left and Texas A&M went to the break with a 36-26 advantage.

The Penguins got to within four points on 3-pointers by Cole and Stewart and a layup by Amiker, and again on a triple by Stewart with 9:14 left, but seven quick points by the Aggies made it an 11-point deficit with six minutes remaining. Any chance for a Youngstown State comeback went out the window when Jones scored nine points in less than two minutes.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Jones notched the eighth 20-point game of his career and the first this season. ... The Aggies shot 60.8 percent from the field, including 11-of-20 from 3-point territory. ... Led by Robinson, Texas A&M had 23 assists on 31 made field goals.
