George Washington 81, DePaul 68: Patricio Garino scored 19 points to pace three scorers in double figures as the host Colonials won for the fourth time in five games.

Kevin Larsen and Joe McDonald each established season highs with 18 points apiece for George Washington (6-2), which hit 60 percent of its first-half shots in building a 42-22 halftime advantage. Larsen pulled down a team-high eight rebounds and Garino added five steals.

Myke Henry scored 22 points and hit a career-high four 3-pointers to lead the Blue Demons (6-2), whose four-game winning streak ended. Jamee Crockett added 16 points for DePaul, which hit four 3-pointers in the final 3:17.

The Blue Demons led 12-11 with 13:28 left in the first half, but Larsen’s steal and dunk put the Colonials ahead to stay and launched a 21-4 spurt. Larsen and McDonald scored five points each during the run, and two Kethan Savage free throws with 3:14 remaining in the half gave George Washington a 32-16 lead.

Darian Bryant’s basket a little more than five minutes into the second half made it 54-33 George Washington before the Blue Demons mounted a brief rally, pulling within 54-40 on Henry’s layup with 12:25 to play. Garino sparked an 8-2 run with six points, and his layup with 8:38 to play reestablished a 20-point lead.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Larsen (11 points), Garino (10 points) and McDonald (10 points) combined to shoot 14-of-20 from the field in the first half. … Garino is 29-of-42 from the field in his past four contests. … The Blue Demons started the night 19th in the nation in free-throw percentage at 75.6 percent, but made 8-of-14 attempts.
