NJIT 72, No. 16 Michigan 70: Damon Lynn poured in 20 points - including six 3-pointers - as the visiting Highlanders stunned the Wolverines to earn their first win over a Top 25 opponent.

Ky Howard added 17 points, six assists and five rebounds for NJIT (3-5), which shot 58.7 percent from the floor. Winfield Willis also scored 17 points for the Highlanders, who went 11-of-17 from 3-point land.

Caris LeVert scored a career-high 32 points to go along with six rebounds and four steals for Michigan (6-2), which saw its eight-game home winning streak snapped. Derrick Walton Jr. chipped in with 16 points while Zak Irvin was limited to five points on 2-of-11 shooting for the Wolverines.

Michigan scored the first eight points of the game before Willis sparked a 10-3 surge a short time later to cut the deficit to 16-15. NJIT shot 61.1 percent from the floor and went 5-of-8 from 3-point range in the first half to stay within striking distance of the Wolverines at 32-27.

Lynn sparked a 13-0 surge to put NJIT on top 51-44 before LeVert knocked down two 3-pointers during a 9-0 run to put Michigan back in front 55-53 with 6:12 remaining in the second half. Lynn connected from beyond the arc to give the Highlanders a 68-64 lead before LeVert nailed a triple to close the gap to one, but Daquan Holiday sank two free throws with four seconds left to seal the upset.

GAME NOTEBOOK: NJIT went 7-of-9 from the foul line while Michigan finished 13-of-14 …Wolverines G Spike Albrecht has dished out 18 assists while committing zero turnovers in his last three games. … Michigan F Kameron Chatman went 0-of-6 from the floor to finish with one point.
