No. 3 Arizona 91, Gardner-Webb 65: Stanley Johnson and Gabe York scored 18 points apiece as the Wildcats ran away from the visiting Bulldogs in the final 13 minutes.

Johnson, the reigning Pac-12 Player of the Week, shot 6-for-9, including 3-for-4 from 3-point range, and York was 3-for-5 from long distance for Arizona (7-0). Rondae Hollis-Jefferson added 11 points off the bench and Kaleb Tarczewski finished with 10 points and seven rebounds as Arizona owned a 43-27 edge on the boards.

Tyrell Nelson had 15 points and eight rebounds while Tyler Strange finished with 15 points and six assists to lead Gardner-Webb (3-4). Jerome Hill, coming off a career-high 32 points for the Bulldogs, finished with 13.

The Bulldogs showed plenty of fight, opening the second half with a 13-2 run to pull within a point. The Wildcats disposed of Gardner-Webb for good, however, stringing together a 21-1 burst while holding the Bulldogs without a field goal for 6:02.

Gardner-Webb moved ahead 3-2 in the opening minute of the game and didn’t trail again until 6:17 remained in the first half, when Hollis-Jefferson made a layup in the middle of a 7-0 run that gave the Wildcats a 26-22 lead. The Bulldogs came back to tie the score once more, but Arizona finished the first half with an 11-0 run to take a 40-28 lead into the break.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Wildcats extended their winning streak in regular-season nonconference games to a nation-leading 34. … Arizona is a combined 18-0 in the month of November over the past three seasons. … The Wildcats, who came in shooting 34.1 percent from 3-point range, finished 10-for-17 from beyond the arc.
