North Carolina State 84, Richmond 72: Trevor Lacey scored a career-high 26 points as the host Wolfpack finished strong to knock off the Spiders.

Ralston Turner hit all three of his 3-point tries en route to 23 points for N.C. State, which improved to 5-0 for the first time since 1984. Kyle Washington finished with nine points and five rebounds off the bench, making his only 3-pointer as the Wolfpack went 8-of-13 from beyond the arc.

T.J. Cline led Richmond (2-2) with 17 points and seven rebounds in a reserve role. Kendall Anthony also scored 17 and Terry Allen recorded 14 for the Spiders, who shot 10-of-33 in the second half.

Allen made all five of his shots and Cline was 4-for-5 - including 2-for-2 on 3-pointers - as Richmond shot 72 percent in the first half, but Lacey nearly matched them himself with 21 points and Cody Martin's tip-in at the buzzer gave N.C. State a 45-44 lead at the break. Neither team gained any separation in the early part of the second half and Cline's 3-pointer put the Spiders up 63-62 with just under 10 minutes left.

The Wolfpack responded with two quick baskets to spark an 8-0 run that lasted nearly five minutes before Cline was good again from long range to pull Richmond within 70-66 with four minutes left. Lacey hit a jumper to make it a six-point margin and N.C. State made 10 straight free throws down the stretch to survive.
