Saint Peter's 68, Rutgers 50:
Dominique Marvin scored 22 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead the visiting Peacocks to their first win of the season.

Chazz Patterson added 13 points and Trevis Wyche had 12 for Saint Peter's (1-4). Marvin had four 3-pointers and Patterson hit three as the Peacocks shot 52.2 percent from beyond the arc.

Junior Etou led Rutgers (2-2) with 16 points and six rebounds, while Myles Mack added 13 points, seven assists and four steals. Kadeem Jack contributed 10 points, but the Scarlet Knights were hurt by bad shooting in all areas, especially from 3-point range (5-of-24) and at the free-throw line (9-of-18).

The game was close early, with five lead changes in the first seven minutes of the contest. Down by one with 13 minutes to play in the first half, Saint Peter's went on a 19-2 run, holding Rutgers scoreless for an 8:30 span before settling for a 12-point halftime lead.

The Peacocks scored a quick five points in the first minute of the second half to go up 17, but the Scarlet Knights fought back to within 10 with 11:16 to play on Jack's 3-pointer. But another long scoring drought saw Rutgers score just two points over the next six minutes, and even though the Knights fought back within 10 again with 3:22 to play, they only scored a single free throw the rest of the way.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Saint Peter's dominated the glass, 36-26, grabbing 13 offensive rebounds. … The Peacocks recorded 16 assists on their 20 field goals. … Outside of the three double-figure scorers for Rutgers, the other seven players who saw action combined for 11 points.
