Washington 63, Seattle 48: Shawn Kemp Jr. had 12 points and seven rebounds and the visiting Huskies used a big second half to pull away from their city rivals.

Quevyn Winters also scored a dozen points, all on 3-pointers, for Washington (2-0). Andrew Andrews had two big 3-pointers in the second half and finished with 11 points as did Nigel Williams-Goss, who added a game-high six assists.

Seattle, which fell to 4-26 all-time against Washington, was led by Isiah Umipig and Jadon Cohee with 10 points apiece but the Redhawks (1-2) shot just 28.6 percent from the field and made just 3-of-21 from behind the arc. Umipig entered the game averaging 23.5 points but was 4-for-19 from the field.

The Redhawks led by as much as eight in the first half and took a slim 21-20 lead into the half as both team struggled shooting. Winters had three 3-pointers for the Huskies, who otherwise went 0-for-11 from beyond the arc before the break.

Andrews hit two quick 3-pointers and the Huskies scored the first eight points of the second half to grab a 28-21 lead and never trailed again. Washington opened up a 16-point lead midway through the second half before Seattle closed the gap to 54-48 with 2:53 to play, but the Redhawks never scored again missing their final five field goal attempts and a free throw.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Washington's Mike Anderson and Seattle's Jack Crook were assessed matching technical fouls for a near altercation in the second half. ...Anderson had seven rebounds and four assists and four points.
