Ole Miss 69, Southern 38: Stefan Moody scored 13 points as the host Rebels turned away the Jaguars.

LaDarius White added 12 points off the bench for Ole Miss (2-1), which allowed its fewest points since the 2012 season opener in which ULM scored just 38. Martavious Newby contributed nine points and six rebounds and Dwight Coleby scored eight to go with six boards for the Rebels, who limited Southern to 28 percent from the field.

Adrian Rodgers had 11 points to lead the offense for the Jaguars (1-2), who converted just one of their 11 attempts from beyond the arc. Keith Davis chipped in with 10 points and a game-high five blocks for Southern, which did itself no favors by committing 22 turnovers.

Ole Miss warded off an early challenge from Southern, which led 8-7 before a jumper from White gave the Rebels the lead for good. Ole Miss ended the first half on a 30-7 run to take a 37-15 lead into the locker room.

After the break, it was more of the same for Ole Miss, as the Jaguars would never get closer than 22 points. A dunk from Anthony Perez was the only field goal in the final five minutes as the Rebels comfortably ran off the clock down the stretch.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Ole Miss, which recorded 5.5 blocks per game last season to finish just outside of the top 20 in the nation, swatted away six Jaguar shots. ... Southern is without G Tre Lynch, its leading scorer from last season, who is expected to miss up to three weeks with a sprained ankle. ... Rebels G Jarvis Summers, the SEC's active points leader, managed just six points on 2-of-5 shooting.
