North Carolina State 79, Jacksonville 42: Caleb Martin scored 12 of his team-high 15 points in the first half and BeeJay Anya set a single-game school record with 10 blocked shots as the Wolfpack (3-0) had an easy time with the visiting Dolphins.

Martin came off the bench to shoot 6-for-10 from the field and 3-of-5 from 3-point range while Anya dominated the interior with seven points and eight rebounds. Anya’s 10 blocks erased the school record held by former Wolfpack big men Todd Fuller and Thurl Bailey, who each had nine.

Jacksonville (1-3) was led by Josh Adeyeye with 15 points while Kori Babineaux and J.R. Holder each scored eight points. But on a night where NC State didn’t give Jacksonville many clean looks Adeyeye, Babineaux, and Holder combined to shoot 9-for-33.

The game was tied at 5 when the Wolfpack pulled away with a dauntless 16-0 spurt started by a layup from Martin. A layup by Adeyeye ended the run but NC State finished the first half by outscoring Jacksonville 26-9 to build a commanding 47-16 halftime lead.

The Dolphins endured a 10:07 stretch in the first half without a field goal and missed 23 of their first 26 shots. Jacksonville finished the game connecting on just 13-of-56 from the field.

GAME NOTEBOOK: This was the first meeting between the two schools since 1969. … Jacksonville shot 51.9 percent from the free-throw line through its first three games and was 15-for-17 against NC State. ... Anya blocked four shots during one sequence in the first half.
