Oklahoma State 91, Northwestern Oklahoma State 45: Phil Forte III scored 18 points and Le'Bryan Nash added 16 and 12 rebounds as the host Cowboys rolled over the Division II Rangers.

Freshman Jeffrey Carroll had 15 points and 11 rebounds in his first start for Oklahoma State (3-0), which has outscored its first three opponents 250-152. Forte drained four shots from the arc and Jeff Newberry stroked three more en route to 14 points as Oklahoma State shot 55.6 percent from the field and hit 10-of-23 from the arc.

Darrian Dempsey had 12 points and Laakeem Henderson added 10 for Northwestern Oklahoma State (1-2). The Rangers shot just 23.3 percent and were overwhelmed on the boards, 60-25.

With Marcus Smart and Markel Brown off to the NBA, the Cowboys have been searching for some firepower to help out Nash and Forte, who combined to tally 71 points in the first two games while the rest of the starters combined for 30. Starters Carroll (13), Anthony Allen (two) and Anthony Hickey (seven) combined for 22 in the first half alone in this one.

Adrian Motley hit a 3-pointer to open the scoring, but Nash and Forte scored six apiece as the Cowboys scored the next 20 points and held the Rangers without a field goal for over nine minutes. Carroll scored nine points over a three-minute stretch later in the half, and Oklahoma State took a 49-20 lead into the locker room and coasted the rest of the way.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Oklahoma State is 189-4 in home games against non-conference opponents since 1987. …Despite the rout, Cowboys coach Travis Ford couldn't be happy with nine first-half turnovers after averaging 12 in the first two games. … The Rangers bench shot 2-of-17 from the field.
