JaKobe Coles scored a career-high 21 points, grabbed seven rebounds and blocked three shots to lead No. 24 TCU to a 78-51 victory over Jackson State on Tuesday night at Fort Worth, Texas.

The Horned Frogs (7-1) won their fifth consecutive game while the Tigers (1-7) failed to put together what would have been back-to-back wins for the first time this season.

With the Big 12 Conference Preseason Player of the Year, Mike Miles Jr., still sidelined, TCU drew upon its depth on the offensive end to take control early.

Coles shot 7 of 11 from the field, including 3 of 5 from 3-point range, but TCU overcame some subpar shooting in the first half, which kept Jackson State in the game early.

Jackson State took a 4-2 lead a couple of minutes into the game before an early 12-0 run by TCU put the Horned Frogs in front for good.

Jackson State cut the Horned Frogs' lead to 31-25 with 2:50 to go in the first half on a Trace Young 3-pointer.

But TCU answered with an 8-2 run to close out the first half.

Damion Baugh totaled 15 points, six rebounds and five assists for the Frogs. Shahada Wells had 14 points and four assists, while Chuck O'Bannon Jr. totaled 11 points and five rebounds.

The Tigers were led by Coltie Young, who finished with 14 points and five rebounds. However, an inability to protect the basketball and poor shooting caused Jackson State to fall into a deep hole.

The Tigers committed 29 turnovers and shot 17-for-57 (29.8 percent) from the field, including 6-for-23 from 3-point range. Trace Young was held to only five points on 1-for-9 shooting and fouled out with 3:45 left in the second half.

The Horned Frogs will stay at home for their next game on Saturday, as they host SMU. Jackson State will play at Akron on Sunday.
