Fabian White Jr. had a career-high 22 points and nine rebounds and No. 6 Houston rode a fast start to its 12th straight win with an 80-58 victory over host Cincinnati in an American Athletic Conference game on Sunday.

Jamal Shead posted 17 points, six assists and five rebounds for the Cougars (20-2, 9-0 AAC), who jumped out to a 25-7 lead a little more than eight minutes into the game and never looked back against the Bearcats (15-7, 5-4).

Taze Moore had 13 points and Reggie Chaney added 10 points for Houston, which led by as many as 23 points in the second half.

White shot 8-for-13 from the field, including 4-for-5 from 3-point range. The Cougars shot 53.3 percent (32-for-60) from the field, including 38.1 percent (8-for-21) from 3-point range.

The Cougars also dominated the paint, outscoring Cincinnati 38-18.

David DeJulius had 25 points on 6-for-14 shooting from the field and 12-for-12 from the free-throw line for Cincinnati, which has lost two of its past three games.

The Bearcats, who received nine points from Jeremiah Davenport, never found any rhythm offensively. Cincinnati shot 34 percent (18-for-53) from the field, including 20 percent (4-for-20) from beyond the arc.

Houston put the game away early. The Cougars opened 10-for-15 from the field, including 4-of-5 from 3-point range, to build a 25-7 lead following Kyler Edwards' 3-pointer with 11:49 left in the first half.

The Bearcats opened by missing 10 of their first 12 shots, including all four of their attempts from beyond the arc, in addition to committing five turnovers in the first 10 minutes.

DeJulius tried to keep the Bearcats in the game single-handedly. He scored 18 of Cincinnati's 31 first-half points while shooting 5-for-10 from the field and 7-for-7 from the free-throw line. The rest of the team shot 5-for-17 from the field.

After their 21-point lead got trimmed to 42-31 at halftime, the Cougars pushed their lead to 63-44 following Shead's jumper with 9:55 remaining.
