Azuolas Tubelis scored a game-high 20 points and Christian Koloko achieved his first career double-double as Arizona dominated with its post players in a 104-50 victory over University of Texas Rio Grande Valley on Friday night in Tucson, Ariz.

Tubelis, a power forward, made 7 of 8 shots from field, and he also pulled down nine rebounds. Koloko, a 7-foot-1 sophomore center, scored a career-high 18 points to go with 11 rebounds and five blocked shots -- all in 19 minutes.

Arizona (2-0) finished with a 54-25 edge on the glass.

The Vaqueros (1-1) had trouble getting good looks close to the basket, shooting 22.4 percent (15 of 67) for the game.

Ricky Nelson led UTRGV with 14 points. Justin Johnson and Mike Adewunmi each scored 10.

Arizona played fast, shot 60.7 percent for the game and kept pulling away after halftime, hitting 7 of 11 3-point attempts during one stretch in the second half. They hit triple-digit points on Oumar Ballo's dunk with 3:13 to go for a 101-45 lead.

Bennedict Mathurin scored 13 points and Justin Kier added another 13 off the bench for the Wildcats. Ballo, the backup center, contributed to the domination down low with 12 points and six rebounds.

Arizona surged from the start, taking an 8-0 lead with the help of two fast-break baskets by Tubelis. He then contributed a 3-pointer and another layup as the Wildcats raced to an 18-2 lead six minutes into the game.

The Wildcats' size and interior passing overwhelmed the Vaqueros in the first half, as Arizona took a 49-24 lead into the break, shooting 62.5 percent (20 of 32). In the first half, Tubelis and Koloko combined for 26 points on 11-of-11 shooting, 15 rebounds and six blocks (five from Koloko).

One of the few negatives for Arizona was some out-of-control play that led to 18 turnovers, 12 in the first half.
