Armando Bacot added 18 points and 11 rebounds and RJ Davis and Brady Manek both scored 17 points for North Carolina (10-3, 2-0 Atlantic Coast Conference)
Jaeden Zackery's 13 points and Makai Ashton-Langford's 12 points paced Boston College (6-6, 1-1).
It was the first post-Christmas game for both teams. Boston College hadn't played since Dec. 13, one of just three games in December for the Eagles.
Boston College's defense was torched after entering the game allowing just 61.6 points per game.
Love made four 3-point baskets as part of 7-for-11 shooting from the field.
The Tar Heels shot 11-for-23 on 3-pointers, while Boston College made six of its 3-pointers in the second half as part of 8-for-28 shooting on 3s overall.
Boston College at least got its shooting touch back to some degree in the second half and ended up posting a 31.3-percent mark for the game from the field.
North Carolina won by a lopsided margin despite no points from starters Dawson Garcia and Leaky Black. The Tar Heels held a 42-35 rebounding edge.
The Tar Heels led 49-20 at halftime, with four players already with double-figure scoring totals.
It took almost four minutes before North Carolina scored, but Boston College held only a 4-0 lead at that point. The Tar Heels ended up 12-for-12 on free throws in the first half on the way to 16-for-19 on foul shots for the game.
Boston College shot 16.7 percent (6 of 36) from the field in the opening half.
The game was slated for Saturday, but shifted because Boston College had been in COVID protocols.
North Carolina has won both its conference games on the road, with another road date set for Wednesday night at Notre Dame.
