Ochai Agbaji scored 19 points, connecting on four straight 3-pointers Thursday before matching his career-high of five from that distance as Kansas trounced Iowa State 97-64 at Lawrence, Kan.

The win was the second for the Jayhawks (14-7, 8-5 Big 12) since falling out of the rankings on Monday and kept the Cyclones (2-13, 0-10) winless in the conference. The teams will engage in a rematch Saturday at Iowa State.

With David McCormack saddled with foul problems for much of the game, Kansas relied on its guards to provide most of the scoring.

Jalen Wilson recorded his third straight double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. He led Kansas to a 44-32 advantage on the glass. Christian Braun added 18 points and six assists along with five rebounds.

McCormack came on late to post 12 points and six boards after averaging 18 points in the previous five games. The 97-point output was a season high for Kansas, which erupted for 58 in the second half.

The Jayhawks pulled away by making nine consecutive shots capped by a jumper from Wilson with 12:42 left for a 65-41 margin.

Jalen Coleman-Lands scored a season-high 20 points to lead the Cyclones, who continue to stare at the possibility of going winless in Big 12 play. Their last winless league stretch came in 1936-37 when they finished 0-10 as members of the Big Six.

Solomon Young added 10 points but Iowa State shot just 36.4 percent from the field.

A 3-pointer at the first-half horn by Wilson enabled Kansas to close with an 8-2 spurt and grab its biggest lead of the half, 39-27, at the break.

Braun scored 10 first-half points, while Wilson added nine as the Jayhawks committed just one first-half turnover before finishing with seven.

Coleman-Lands scored 10 first-half points to lead the Cyclones, who shot just 31.4 percent, including 3 of 14 treys.

Kansas started just 2-for-12 but Iowa State could only gain a 7-5 lead. A string of five straight makes helped the Jayhawks establish a 17-10 margin.

The last bucket in that run came from reserve Bryce Thompson, who missed the previous seven games with a broken finger after returning from a back injury. Thompson scored eight points.
