Oscar da Silva helped Stanford pull away with seven of his game-high 31 points down the stretch as the Cardinal outlasted Oregon State 81-71 in a Pacific-12 Conference men's basketball game Monday afternoon in Corvallis, Ore.

The contest was the make-up of a scheduled matchup Thursday night that was postponed due to COVID-19 concerns within the Oregon State program.

Coming off a loss Saturday at Oregon, the Cardinal (6-3, 2-1 Pac-12) trailed 60-58 after a Gianni Hunt 3-pointer with 8:35 remaining.

Michael O'Connell countered with a game-tying layup, then made a go-ahead jumper with 7:18 remaining that gave the Cardinal a lead at 62-60 they did not relinquish the rest of the way.

Da Silva blazed the trail from there, hitting three free throws and then two layups as Stanford, which had won four consecutive games before the loss at Oregon, went on to lead by as many as 13 points.

Da Silva did not score in the final 3:42, leaving him one point shy of his career-high of 32 points recorded last month at Cal State Northridge. He also contributed a game-high-tying 10 rebounds and four assists to the win.

O'Connell finished with 12 points and a game-high eight assists off the bench, while Jaiden Delaire had 19 points and nine rebounds for Stanford, which was swept in the two-game season series by Oregon State last season.

Burying five 3-pointers, Jarod Lucas came off the bench to record a career-best 22 points for the Beavers (5-4, 1-2), who saw their three-game winning streak come to an end.

Lucas' previous high of 21 points came at Stanford last season.

Hunt made four 3-pointers in a 17-point outing for Oregon State, while Warith Alatishe had 10 rebounds and game-high five blocks to complement eight points and Ethan Thompson had 10 points and a team-high seven assists.

The Beavers outscored the Cardinal 33-9 on 3-pointers.

Stanford led by as many as 11 points in a first half that ended in a 33-all tie.

Hunt hit three of his 3-pointers in the first 20 minutes, including one with 3:40 remaining in the half that put Oregon State up 27-26 after it had trailed 17-6 nine minutes earlier.

Da Silva had 11 of his 31 points in the half.
