Timmy Allen scored 22 points and Alfonso Plummer added 16 to lead Utah to a 79-65 win over visiting Stanford on Thursday afternoon in Salt Lake City.

The victory continued the Utes' recent run of success against the Cardinal with their sixth straight home win in the series.

Utah (5-5 overall, 2-4 Pac-12) took over near the end of the first half and never let Stanford get closer than nine points after that. Center Branden Carlson had four blocked shots to with 12 points, and the Cardinal shot just 35.4 percent (17 of 48) for the game.

Allen added eight rebounds and five assists and Mikael Jantunen chipped in 11 points for Utah.

Stanford (8-4, 4-2) welcomed back guard Daejon Davis to game action after he missed the Cardinal's previous five games due to injury. Davis scored 19 points and surpassed 1,000 for his college career with a layup at the 16:05 mark of the first half, but fouled out in 25 minutes.

Davis had 12 points in the second half, but a Carlson dunk and Rylan Jones' layup gave Utah a 76-61 lead with 2:21 to play. Utah ended a four-game losing streak while Stanford's three-game winning streak came to an end.

Ziaire Williams added 17 points for Stanford.

The Utes, who blew two 10-point halftime leads in their previous two games, took a nine-point lead into halftime and instead of folding, built their lead out to as many as 18 points.

The Utes ended the first half on a 14-2 run, going from a 23-20 deficit to a 34-25 lead. Allen had nine points in that stretch and finished with 15 in the half, and Plummer's 3-pointer with 0:37 left gave Utah its biggest lead of the half.

Stanford forward Oscar da Silva, the reigning conference player of the week and leading scorer in the Pac-12 at almost 20 points a game, was held to 11 points.
