Selton Miguel hit a 3-pointer with 9.6 seconds left to lift injury-depleted Kansas State to a 60-58 victory over visiting Omaha in Manhattan, Kan. The Wildcats had only eight scholarship players available for the game.

Davion Bradford hit 1 of 2 free throws with 47.3 seconds left to put the Wildcats up by one.

Miguel then missed the front end of a one-and-one with 24 seconds left, and Ayo Akinwole hit two free throws with 17.6 seconds left to put Omaha up by one point at 58-57.

Mike McGuirl set up the winning basket when he drove down the lane before kicking it to out Miguel.

The Mavericks' Sam'i Roe saw his 3-pointer from the corner clang off the rim at the buzzer.

Akinwole had 14 of his game-high 19 points after halftime. Roe had 12 points for Omaha (2-8).

McGuirl scored 13 and Miguel finished with 11 for Kansas State (5-5). Bradford and DaJuan Gordon each grabbed 10 rebounds.

Omaha tied a season-high with eight 3-pointers. Kansas State went only 8 of 31 from behind the arc. Half of the Wildcats' 62 shots were from 3-point range.

Kansas State pulled away to an eight-point lead early in the second half, but Omaha responded with a quick 8-0 run to tie the score at 45-all with 11:35 left. Neither team led by more than three points the rest of the way.

A 21-5 run gave the Mavericks a 26-15 lead with about six minutes left in the first half. Roe led Omaha with 11 points in the first half. He hit 3-of-7 from long range.

But a 12-0 run by Kansas State turned a 29-18 deficit into a 30-29 lead.

Matt Pile's free throw with 40.9 seconds left tied the score, and McGuirl's dunk with 26 second left sent Kansas State to the locker room with a 32-30 lead, despite hitting just 38.7 percent of its shots.

McGuirl led the Wildcats with eight points, followed by Rudi Williams and Carlton Linguard with seven each.
