D'Mitrik Trice had 21 points and seven assists, Tyler Wahl made two clutch 3-pointers and No. 8 Wisconsin outlasted Indiana in double overtime 80-73 in Big Ten play at Madison, Wis., on Thursday.
Nate Reuvers contributed 14 points and six rebounds for Wisconsin (10-2, 4-1 Big Ten), while Wahl added 12 points and Micah Potter chipped in 10.
Trayce Jackson-Davis' 23 points and 12 rebounds led Indiana (7-5, 2-3), which has lost 18 straight at Wisconsin's Kohl Center, dating back to 1998. Aljami Durham had 15 points and five assists, Jerome Hunter added 12 points and seven rebounds and Rob Phinisee supplied 10 points and six assists.
Wahl's back-to-back 3-pointers in the second overtime gave the Badgers a 77-70 lead with 2:38 remaining. Trice made a layup to clinch the victory.
In the first overtime, Hunter dunked off a feed from Durham to give Indiana a 66-64 edge with 1:50 left. Trice tossed in a 3 from the right wing to put Wisconsin on top with 1:02 remaining.
Durham's three-point play was answered by Trice's fallaway jumper, knotting the score at 69. Both sides came up empty in their final possession, sending the game into double overtime.
Wisconsin held a slim lead the first 10 minutes of the second half.
Jackson-Davis then ignited an 8-0 Hoosiers run. He scored five consecutive points, including a dunk and free throw for a three-point play. He then set up a 3-pointer by Hunter to give Indiana the lead.
He dunked with 6:47 remaining to provide the Hoosiers with a 54-50 advantage. Phinisee's inside basket nudged the lead to six points.
Reuvers scored the last four points of a 7-0 Badgers spurt to put them on top by a point. Indiana regained the lead on a Phinisee 3-pointer off a Durham pass.
Following two Trice free throws, Hunter dunked off a Jackson-Davis pass with 38 seconds remaining. Trice's floater with 21 seconds left tied it again at 61-apiece.
Jackson-Davis missed a bank shot in the closing seconds, forcing overtime.
The Badgers had a 14-0 run in the first half but the Hoosiers cut their deficit to five, 29-24, by halftime.
