Guard Josh Jefferson scored 14 points for Green Bay, guard P.J. Pipes added 13 and forward Paris Taylor added 10 points and seven rebounds in the defeat.

Minnesota didn't take long to get going, jumping out to a 12-0 lead just 3:30 into the game. The Golden Gophers then went ahead 19-2 with 13:51 left in the first half and 36-9 with 7:57 remaining until halftime.

Minnesota eventually reached the 50-point mark before the half end and held a 53-22 lead at the break.

Green Bay stormed back in the second half. Trailing 68-44 with 13:08 remaining, the Phoenix went on a 16-2 run to cut Minnesota's lead to 70-60 with 8:35 remaining after two Davis free throws.

The Golden Gophers responded with a 14-3 run to take an 84-63 lead with 5:25 left in the game to put the contest out of reach.

Minnesota put up its high-point total despite shooting 7 of 34 (20.6 percent) from 3-point range. The Golden Gophers made up for it by going 27-of-45 (60 percent) on 2-pointers and 24-of-30 from the free-throw line.

Green Bay committed 23 turnovers, 15 of which came in the first half. The Phoenix finished 3 of 16 from 3-point range.
