Devontae Shuler scored 14 points as the Ole Miss Rebels defeated the No. 24 Missouri Tigers 60-53 Tuesday night in Columbia, Mo., to bolster their NCAA Tournament hopes.

Ole Miss (13-9, 8-7 Southeastern Conference) has won five of its past six games while making its case to the tournament selection committee.

Romello White, Luis Rodriguez and Jarkel Joiner each added 10 points for the Rebels, who have won 15 of their 18 meetings with Missouri (14-7, 7-7). The Rebels routed the Tigers 80-59 earlier this month.

Kobe Brown led Missouri with 12 points. Mark Smith scored 11 points and Jeremiah Tilmon had 10 points and 10 rebounds.

The Tigers have lost four of their last five games.

Ole Miss outrebounded Missouri 41-32 and grabbed 15 offensive rebounds.

The Rebels started fast, taking a 9-4 lead with White rolling to the basket for six early points.

Ole Miss sustained defensive pressure on the Tigers while forcing six turnovers in the first eight minutes of the game. The Rebels forged 17-12 and 21-17 leads, but each time the Tigers reeled them in.

The Rebels finished the first half with a 10-2 flourish during the final four minutes of the first half to build a 33-24 margin. The key basket was Shuler's step-back 3-point jumper with the shot clock expiring.

Ole Miss hounded the Tigers into 8-for-25 shooting from the floor during the first half.

Missouri's struggles continued as they failed to score during the first three minutes of the second half. The Rebels extended their lead to 37-24 before the Tigers countered with a 19-4 run to take a 43-41 lead.

Brown, who sat out most of the first half with two fouls, sparked the Missouri comeback with baskets on back-to-back possessions.

The game remained tight until the Rebels broke a 50-50 tie with buckets by Shuler and KJ Buffen in the final two minutes.
