MaCio Teague had 23 points and 10 rebounds as No. 2 Baylor pounded Kansas State 100-69 Saturday in Manhattan, Kan. The Bears, who had not played in 10 days and had two games postponed or canceled because of COVID-19, pulled away quickly and never were threatened.

The 100 points were the most points Baylor has ever scored against Kansas State.

Baylor (5-0, 1-0 Big 12), who didn't return to practice until Thursday, led by as many as 32 points in the second half and never saw the lead dip below 23.

Besides Teague, Baylor was led by Davion Mitchell with 20 points. Mitchell hit six 3-pointers. Jared Butler had his first career double-double, with 14 points and a career-high 13 assists. Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua had 13 points.

K-State (3-5, 1-1) played evenly with Baylor in the second half, after trailing by 29 at halftime. The Wildcats were led by Antonio Gordon with a career-high 23 points. He was 9 of 9 from the field. His previous high was 14 points last year at Texas Tech. Selton Miguel joined Gordon in double-figures with 14 points.

Things couldn't have started worse for K-State. The Cats had turnovers in three of their first four possessions. Behind 12 early points from Teague, the Bears raced to a 15-4 lead five minutes into the game. When Mark Vital hit one of two free throws with 8:18 remaining, Baylor led by 20 (35-15).

The stat page showed why Baylor led 56-27 at halftime. The Bears outrebounded the Wildcats 21-8, including 11 offensive boards. They forced 12 K-State turnovers and scored 19 points off those turnovers. They shot 61.8 percent from the field, including 46.7 percent from 3-point range.

The Bears were led by Teague and Tchamwa Tchatchoua with 13 points each. Mitchell and L.J. Cryer each had eight. K-State was led by Antonio Gordon with six points.
