Brandon Childress scored 17 points and Olivier Sarr added 16 off the bench as Wake Forest handled Long Beach State 88-75 in a semifinal of the Wooden Legacy tournament on Friday in Anaheim, Calif.

Wake Forest (5-2), which won its third staight game, will play either No. 14 Arizona or Pennsylvania in Sunday's title game. Long Beach State (3-5), which upset Providence on Thursday, heads to the third-place game.

The Demon Deacons had six players score in double figures. Besides Childress and Sarr, there were Chaundee Brown (13 points), Andrien White (12), Torry Johnson (11) and Isaiah Mucius (10). Sarr also had a game-high eight rebounds.

Brown came off the bench for the second straight game following a one-game absence with an injury. The guard struggled from the field but went 9 of 9 on free throws. Overall, the Demon Deacons sank 24 of 25 foul shots.

Michael Carter III scored 18 points and had nine assists and Chance Hunter had 17 points to lead Long Beach State. Colin Slater's 15 points and Joshua Morgan's 10 points also lifted the offense.

Wake Forest built a double-digit lead with more than 14 minutes remaining.

Long Beach State pulled within 68-60 with 6:39 remaining but then committed two turnovers before scoring another point. Slater provided six points in a three-minute span to prevent the Demon Deacons from putting the game out of reach.

Wake Forest went on a 6-0 spurt across a 63-second stretch for a 78-64 advantage.

Wake Forest led 38-31 at halftime, aided by White's banked-in half-court basket at the horn.

The Demon Deacons were hurt by 10 turnovers in the opening half.

After pulling within 31-29 with 3:33 to go in the first half, Long Beach State missed its final four shots during a period when it committed two turnovers.
