Desmond Bane scored 12 of his team-high 17 points in the second half as TCU defeated visiting Kansas State 68-57 on Saturday in Fort Worth, Texas.

Bane hit half of his 10 3-point attempts TCU was 15 of 33 from 3-point range, its second-most 3-point makes this season. They were 9 of 17 from beyond the arc in the second half.

TCU (14-11, 5-7 Big 12) also got 15 points each from RJ Nembhard, who was 3 of 5 from 3-point range, and Jaire Grayer, who hit 4 of 9 from beyond the arc.

Kansas State (9-16, 2-10) was led by Xavier Sneed with 15 points, but Sneed was 0-for-4 from 3-point range and 3 of 8 from the free-throw line. David Sloan added 11 points and Cartier Diarra chipped in 10 points for the Wildcats.

K-State, which has lost five consecutive games, is off to its worst start in the Big 12 since 1999-2000, when it finished 2-14 in conference.

Bane picked up his third foul 1:29 into the second half with the Horned Frogs holding a slim lead. But head coach Jaime Dixon left Bane in the game, and it paid off. Bane hit three of his next four 3-point attempts to keep TCU in the game, and he never picked up his fourth foul.

TCU had struggled recently from long range, hitting only 12 of 60 from behind the arc in the past three games. But the Frogs started hot in this game, hitting 6 of 16 in the first half. Grayer was responsible for three of those makes, and he led the Horned Frogs with nine points at halftime.

TCU controlled the game for most of the first half, leading by as many as 10 points with 5:29 left. But the Wildcats went on a 13-0 run and led 27-26 at halftime. TCU did not attempt a free throw in the first half.
