Branden Carlson scored 15 points, collected 10 rebounds and blocked eight shots -- all career-highs -- to help Utah outlast Stanford for a 64-56 overtime victory on Thursday night.

Timmy Allen added 15 points to lead the Utes. Riley Battin chipped in 11 points and 10 rebounds for Utah. The Utes snapped a two-game losing streak despite shooting just 36.8 percent from the field.

Tyrell Terry scored 14 points and Daejon Davis added 12 to lead the Cardinal. Stanford shot just 2-of-10 from the field in overtime.

Stanford trailed throughout the game until Oscar Da Silva scored a putback layup with 5:17 to go in the second half to give the Cardinal a 45-44 lead. It capped a 7-0 run for Stanford.

Utah regained a 47-45 lead a minute later on a 3-pointer from Battin. Then Terry hit a 3-pointer -- his first basket of the second half -- to put Stanford up 50-49 with 55 seconds left in the second half.

Allen made 1-of-2 free throws with 3.9 seconds to go in regulation to send it to overtime.

Utah never trailed in overtime. The Utes took the lead for good on back-to-back layups from Battin and Rylan Jones that sparked a 14-3 run.

The Utes quickly found a groove on offense in the first half. Utah made five straight baskets to fuel a 12-2 run. Battin and Alfonso Plummer bookended the run with 3-pointers. Plummer's outside basket gave the Utes a 24-11 lead.

Stanford had an opportunity to close the gap after Utah scored just two points over the final 10 minutes before halftime. The Utes missed 11 straight shots during that stretch and committed eight turnovers.

The Cardinal could not capitalize on that lengthy drought.

Terry cut the deficit to 27-22 on a layup. Those were the only points for Stanford over the final seven minutes before halftime. The Cardinal endured their own offensive slump in that stretch, missing eight of nine shots and committing four turnovers.

Stanford's comeback efforts suffered a blow when Bryce Wills went down with an ankle injury and went to the locker room with nine minutes left. Wills had nine points and six rebounds at the time he went down.
