Xavier Sneed scored 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the floor to help Kansas State to a 76-58 win over Florida A&M on Monday in Manhattan, Kan.

Kansas State led by 15 at halftime and put the game away with a 9-0 run to start the second half, with six of the points scored in the paint. Florida A&M never got closer than 15 points the rest of the way, with the Wildcats emptying their bench over the final three minutes.

Mike McGuirl added 16 points for Kansas State (5-2) by going 6-for-8 from the field. Cartier Diarra added 11 points for the Wildcats, who snapped a two-game losing streak and moved to 4-0 at home this season.

Kansas State outshot the Rattlers 53.7 percent to 44.6 percent on the strength of a 65.2 percent performance (15 of 23) from the floor in the second half. The Wildcats committed 20 turnovers in the win but outrebounded Florida A&M 35-25.

Evins Desir paced Florida A&M (0-6) with 18 points, and MJ Randolph contributed 10 points for the Rattlers. Florida A&M shot just 1 of 11 from beyond the arc in the loss.

The Wildcats used an 8-0 run midway through the first half to pull away before settling for a 39-24 lead at halftime. McGuirl led all scorers with 13 points over the first 20 minutes on 5-of-7 shooting from the floor.

Kansas State outrebounded the Rattlers 22-12 in the half and 9-3 on the offensive glass, leading to nine second-chance points. Florida A&M stayed within striking distance at the half thanks to eight points by Desir and 11 points from its reserves.

The Rattlers are six games into the 13-game road trip that begins their season. Florida A&M will not play at home until Jan. 11 against Morgan State.
